"My Friends Called Me An IDIOT When I Left The United States With $2,000 And a Dream To Live In a Foreign Country."

"Several months later I got the last laugh when they were sitting on the balcony of my luxury Parisian apartment, gaping wide eyed at my glowing view of the Eiffel Tower."

"How did you do this?" they asked...

Dear Friend,

People who travel the world come in 3 basic varieties.

  1. The occassional travelers. Those who break away from the 9-5 grind, for a couple of weeks out of the year.
  2. The backpacker/nomad. Those who want to experience foreign life, but don't necessarily want to put down roots in any one place.
  3. The country enthusiast. People who settle down in a foreign land for months or years at a time.

I've been all three of those people. But I particularly enjoy being a #3.

There's nothing more exciting to me than immersing yourself in the daily life of a different culture, and viewing the world through another set of eyes. To me it's almost a spiritual experience.

Perhaps you're a budding #3 who shares my love and passion for foreign cultures.

Maybe you'd like to extend your adventures in distant lands, but keep coming up against a big, stinky brick wall known around the world as,

"NOT ENOUGH MONEY."

Unless you're an English teacher, or you have some highly specialized skills in another field, it's fairly difficult to get a decent paying job in a foreign country.

And in some countries even being an English teacher can leave you living just slightly above the poverty level - if you can even get that type of position at all.

(If you've visited any of the ESL forums for teachers abroad, you know what I mean!)

The problem is there are a lot of hoops an employer has to go through to hire a foreign worker. Visas, sponsorships, financial committments, and paperwork up the wazoo.

You can't just show up in your target country with a twinkle in your eye and a CV in your hand, expecting to be handed a job. In most cases you've gotta be hired BEFORE you even leave your home country. It's quite a hairy process.

I've heard about it many times over, but I've never had the pleasure of engaging in an overseas job seeking mission.

I don't have to.

Early on in my travels, I realized that I probably wouldn't be able to get a job. I had no college degree or long term work experience.

But I did have something even more valuable.

Laptop + digital camera + a gameplan =

Living well in Paris WITHOUT a job

Many years ago when I made my initial foray into Paris, a worker at the hotel where I was staying offered to take me on a driving tour.

In exchange for his kindness - (and because he'd been pulled over and ticketed during our tour!) - I agreed to send him a gift when I returned back to the US. He asked if I could send him a Starter jacket.

Now for those of you who are unfamiliar, a Starter jacket is basically a coat with a specific basketball or football teams emblems on them. For example, there were Chicago Bulls Starter jackets, Miami Heat Starter jackets, etc.

I found this to be a rather odd gift, considering these were American teams and Starter jackets were kind of old news in the States. So I asked him why.

His response permanently changed the way I viewed my travel experiences.

He told me that the young people in Paris LOVED certain American brands. But that they were either very expensive or hard-to-get in Paris.

Back then, brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Levi's were considered hot commodities to the young Parisians. I shook my head in utter disbelief.

Levi's were coveted in Paris... the fashion capital of the world! Huh?!? That didn't seem logical. But it did look awfully darn profitable.

I asked him to round up his buddies and have them give me a list of desired American goods. I told him I would buy the clothes on my side of the pond, he would pay me via PayPal, and I would ship the clothes to him.

Now keep in mind, Starter coats were a rapidly fading fashion trend in the US at that time. So they were dirt cheap in the States.

By the time I purchased the clothes and shipped them to Paris, I had profited over $1,000.

Seeing the potential, we contemplated opening a Parisian store together. And even though I didn't want to be tethered by a long-term relationship like that, I did make a big mental note of the potential for earning money while traveling.

In fact, this is the exact formula I used to afford my fancy schmancy apartment with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

It's called arbitrage.

I bought low in the States, and sold to the Parisians. Then I bought low in Paris, and sold to the Americans. Import/export with a twist... I used the Internet as the middle man.

Fat Pockets Traveler E-Course.

What is a "Fat Pockets Traveler"?

A traveler who makes so much money that his or her pockets are 'fat' or bulging with cash.

Wouldn't it be nice to travel and not have to worry about where you eat... be able to shop wherever you want to... venture to destinations that you previously couldn't afford, or just be able to live wherever you want, without being worried about money all the time?

This free e-course will show you several ways I've earned money while traveling, as well as how other fellow travelers do it.

Here's a small sample of what you'll discover:

  • How a researcher living on a paltry stipend was able to increase her income by almost $2,000 a month following 2 simple rules.
  • The one thing you must do to make my arbitrage technique work for you.
  • How to earn money with your travel photographs even if you're not a pro. (I personally sold 1 photo more than 300 times.)
  • Passive income streams that will continue to deliver profits month after month.
  • And much more.

This stuff is do-able by both young and old. You just need one key item to make it work - the ability to take action.

And that first action in the sequence is learning how to get started.
